Moser Log Home

The image above is a photo of the Moser log cabin taken in 1974.
According to legend, in 1799, a Revolutionary War veteran of Swiss- German Heritage was the first European settler to build a home in what is now Tamaqua. His name was Burkhardt Moser. His home was built in 1801, which made it the first home in Tamaqua, and resembles what most frontier-type log cabins looked like at the time. Most agree that the original log cabin is mostly still there to this day on 307 East Broad Street. Besides a section of the cabin that was removed due to the subdivision of the property.
